- You ask employees to be to work 15 minutes early, but they aren't allowed to clock in 15 minutes early? The only reason that we are coming to work is to make money. If I'm not on the clock, don't expect me to be on the property.
- You give employees a 30 minute lunch break, yet you don't pay for that 30 minutes… Do you know why I am eating a packed lunch instead of food from my fridge? Because I am available today for work… If I wasn't here for the company, I'd be eating what I felt like at the moment. Again, I am on your property for one reason only: To earn money for my time.
- You ask me to train employees without offering me a bonus or a raise in salary: Seriously? It takes me nearly twice as long to complete my own work when trying to train someone, and I actually care about the job that I'm trying to do… And when I tell you, “There is no way this guy is fit for this job” and you tell me, “It's all we can get right now.”… You just degraded everything that I put into the company on a day to day basis.
- You promised me a promotion, yet it's 5 months later and I still don't have it. I have added responsibilities, but not a pay raise? You have me training people who we know won't stay, with no bonuses for my effort? And you wonder why I quit???
- Time off. What's the deal? Work 6 months, earn 1 week paid vacation? But yet, I want to use my vacation and I have to 'schedule' it? What??? It's mine. I earned it. I won't ask you when I can spend the money that I've earned, and I sure as hell won't ask you when I can use the time away that I've earned.
- There is one big thing that you employers don't get: Employment is a two way street, and you probably need me much more than I need you. Anyhow, don't complain when I quit during crunch time. The guy down the street is always paying much better 🙂
