I've been trying to break in to the field for a while now, and realizing this is really discouraging.
To top it off, I found a quora post about this, asking how to get experience when every job requires years of previous experience.
Everyone who replied were all older people suggesting all the typical, outdated shit.
“Just show up with a resume”
“Not all jobs require experience”
“90% of jobs aren't listed”
The world is a completely different place compared to when they were building their lives. It's just so much more difficult now.
I guess I'm going back to food service. Fuck.
