So I was reading another post in this sub and the OP said something in it that really struck me as a conversation we are not having enough.
tldr company found a nice guy to replace me and do 2 jobs at once (lol good luck) after secretly looking for 1.5years for such a slave unicorn.
When I think through all of the tests, the hoops people jump through for jobs… interview after interview and then someone gets rejected in round 4. 30+ minute personality tests. Unpaid work provided by the company. I remember a post where they asked him for artwork, he sent a sample, and they got angry that he didn't design something new on the spot for them.
Everyone is looking for the slave unicorn. Everyone is hiring, but only for the slave unicorns. Everyone is looking to fill their staff out with hard workers who ask no questions and never bring up raises. People who buy into the meritocracy. People who can do 80 hours of work in 40 paid hours per week and never burn out.
For all of you wondering why the hell no one seems to be hiring, why you get rejected from job after job, its because they're actively looking for bootlickers and you didn't show them your tongue. Everyone wants a poster person for the economically insane. Who needs money I'll just go to work more, I don't need pay noooooo I'm happy to be a part of this family!
