Gave notice at my old job after several rounds of interviews and receiving an offer letter and start date with a company offering a few bucks more an hour with more growth potential. The facility I was interviewing for was only a few miles from my house and starts early morning so I'd be avoiding the horrible traffic in my area all the while getting more time with my family in the afternoon. Total win-win.
Get a text the day before I'm supposed to start that I've been permanently reassigned to a different facility.
The facility I was changed to is 40 miles from my house, starts later so I'll be fighting traffic the whole way, and requires toll roads. Between the mileage, tolls, and extra wear and tear on my vehicle and now having to pay for after school care that extra few bucks an hour is gone and I'll be spending way more time commuting to and from work than my last job.
I'm fucking livid. I wouldn't have even accepted the job and just continued my search while working my old job if I'd known this was going to happen.
Now I'm going to be starting a job and looking for a new one right off the bat.
