I got hired as a product demonstrator for high end grocery stores. It's just a side gig, only 4 hours and about $60 a paycheck. It's usually during the weekends and I've realized it's hard because I work a lot of catering events during that time.
So far they have been sending me products that nobody cares about and its hard to push. I don't wanna act like a clown to draw the attention of customers. I talked to as many but they expect to sell like 20 pints of x vegan ice cream which is impossible unless the pint is like $1 but we are talking about $10 per pint.
So the supervisor of the company contacted me through text to complain that the ice-bucket that I was given by the associate was huge. I texted, “Well they told me that's all they had.” And she went,
“Who are 'they'? Well I have to talk to you on the phone.”
Felt very passive aggressive. She was giving that nasty laughter too. She told me I have to find the bucket myself and it's a specific one and nobody told me about it until now. And now she tries to find details and keeps texting me that I have to buy a stand for the sign or I need a better tablecloth, etc. I already feel annoyed for something that pays $60. And on top of that they are pushy to be available x and y dates.
What would you guys do, how would you react to this?
