I work for a charity as an Executive Assistant to the CEO. I have been in this job for 11 months, but now my role is under threat of redundancy as the charity became part of a group structure and they want a group Executive Assistant. I should point out I'm the only EA, and the Group EA role is pretty much the same except they've tacked a bunch of compliancy and policy responsibilities onto the role ( that I am in no way trained in or have experience in). Really, they need a Compliance and/or Policy Manager. I do not want these responsibilities; governance and compliance is my most disliked part of the role as is and I doubt adequate training will be offered. I have worked extremely hard in this role and pulled off several major projects during my time there, but boss may as well have stabbed me and stepped over my bleeding corpse on the way out the office.
This is my first permanent job role for a couple of years and I just feel fed up and betrayed. I'm 40 have had numerous jobs in my life, and have been made redundant before in 2020. Why do I bother? Think you are safe with a permanent job? Think again. Now I'll need to job hunt, again. I'm so angry, just wanted to vent really. Extra anger points as I hate interviews with a passion.
