I got fired from my job at a very small business the other day and it was a fucking nightmare to be there. I stayed as long as I did because, unfortunately, we do need what jobs give us to live.
My boss and I never got along. She’d make these totally batshit crazy statements, call me “disrespectful” because of my disability, and constantly compare me to the other coworkers or applicants who could have had my position to make me feel bad.
Problem is, it’s such a small company that we didn’t have an HR. She was all that was there.
I was the main graphic designer for this company. The other two coworkers knew how to do surface level graphic design, but I’m more of a professional in the field, so that was the majority of the tasks I was assigned.
The day I got fired, I had just finalized some T shirt designs they needed for a fundraiser, along with the companies custom dollars. She came into work half an hour before my shift had ended, and proceeded to fire me without reason.
Fire me without reason? Okay then!
I proceeded to delete every single file I had ever sent to them through gmail, and then my gmail account. Now they have no T shirt fundraiser, No company dollars, No scavenger hunt I created for them, No photography, and no Website Design prototype.
She had completely fucked over her own company by firing me and I hope she realizes that since she also fired my severely underpaid source of income. (I’m a college student – so I was being paid 16CAD$/h to do all that work)
