Fired after calling emergency services

I was fired suspiciously after calling 911 on a work trip. We were going from town to town so I think all the travelling pinched a nerve in my neck (we had been eating a lot of fatty foods the night before so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack) so emergency services come and I refuse the ambulance. Long story short, they send me home to get cleared by a doctor and I don't hear from them for over 2 months. I finally call again after previously letting them know I was ready to return to work only to hear from the contracting company the client (whom we work for as contracted workers) says there isn't any work to resume any work. That's the best way I can explain it. Should I look into wrongful termination?
