I've been working for this company for a year being a quality dependable employee, I was transferred to a mobile home park they own hiree as maintenance, responsibilities were maintaining the proper (doing all lawn care) trimming and cutting down palm trees affected by hurricanes, and rehabbing mobile home trailers from the ground up. I was an excellent employee showed up everyday, taken off when sick and with COVID accordingly. Even showing up the day before a hurricane as the only one helping the park managers finish a few personal things for them because I also needed hours. Without my other employees would have a hared time doing it themselves.
NOW TO YESTERDAY: the day before my car had broken down transmission wouldn't even go into 1st, I had to get a ride to work from FIL and was going to get a ride from a friend home, the day went smooth we were trimming and cutting down some undesirable palm trees and I kept at pace with everyone, we had got a lot done, by 3 we were putting everything away and hour early and dealing with a busted hydraulic hose on the lift, 3:30 me and friend were talking and it came up that there was a burning cigarette on my managers golf cart friend showed it to me and it had a white filter which I smoke full flavor and forgot about it. 3:45 manager comes and says he's letting me go because of the cigarette. I explain I saw the cigarette and it has a white filter mine are brown it was his wife's she smokes white filters and he wasn't even listening at all and just told me to clock out I just walked away in disbelief.
Tomorrow I am calling codes on the house we were rehabbing since absolutely nothing is up to core and slapped with times he has no more retirement wish me luck.
edit they also know my car broke down and I have a newborn baby, I know they're getting a shitstorm too because of things going on in the company so I will sleep good tonight.
