This is more of a vent than anything. I work in a warehouse 4 days a week, 10 hour days. Its already long but we get every friday off. SUPPOSED to get every friday off. Ive been back here for a month(after a temporary layoff) and ive worked 1 friday and been TOLD, not asked, to work tomorrow. Heres how the conversation went.
Manager: we need everybody here tmw.
Foreman: Are you available?
Manager: Yes he is.
Ya i didnt even get to say anything. Foreman asked again and i just said i guess i am. Im on the fence between sucking it up and just not showing up tmw or ever (i.e quit). Ill prob decide after i call my dad today. (Dad and the manager are friends, how i got the job)
Other things the management does that stupid. We are severely understaffed. Small work force of about 10 or so. We need like 16-20 people. So they bring in people that work in the field to help. Which is fine but they are temporary so no one is willing to fully train them because they are only here for a few weeks to a month or so. The training would be mostly a waste of time. So they do easy tasks. They see the manpower and think its fine.
Not to mention we lost 4 very experienced people all at once which is a whole nother story lol. So down manpower and experience and they want us producing like we have a full fucking team. End rant
Tldr: Work fuckin blows
