I've known this guy for a while and he just started a consultancy and also teaches at college. We were talking about some of the benefits of teaching, such as software discounts and such.
Then we spoke about getting to meet talented students to hire. Except he talked about getting work for free or “pennies” from his students. I was kind of shocked and didn't say anything. I hired students when I taught, but I paid them twice what they would get at any other consultancy.
This pisses me off. Not only is it mistreating students, it seem like he's cheating. Wage theft, I guess.
Anyway, not sure I have a point. Just needed post it here.
