Before I start, I just want to preface that I’m looking for advice, as I’m out of options.
My old boss screwed me out of $40,000 in salary and expenses.
Before you say it, I should have definitely quit before it had gotten to that point. I know that now. It was my first job, and I had no reason not to trust that she would pay me what was owed. I had seen her bank accounts. I knew what was in there. So, I wasn’t worried. Once it got to a certain point, I couldn’t afford to leave. She has promised me many times to get me that money, set me up on a payment plan, engaged in overall fraudulent behavior, etc. That has never come to fruition. She was indicted by the IRS for tax evasion and fraud. After that, I was able to find employment elsewhere, but I have been pursuing that money ever since. I have been through every government agency at every level, I have contacted over 100 attorneys in my state, and nothing has happened. I cannot find representation anywhere. Does anyone know what I can do next?
I know it’s a long shot, and I’m not expecting much, but I have no idea what else to do, and the walls are collapsing around me. I’m scared, and I feel helpless. I’m trying to claw myself out of this, but I’m not sure where else to turn.
