So I received 2 job offers and I took the leap and am leaving my job. Anything is better than the company I’m with now. Typical overworked and underpaid, my boss doesn’t bring much to the table, ignores my suggestions and treats me like I haven’t been in the industry longer than he has. Well, he asked for time for a counter offer and I said sure why not. I knew I was going to say no but wanted to see what they would offer me to stay. 4 days later I hadn’t heard back and had let it slip I had already accepted the other job. Oof he was irritated instantly, mr I thought you were going to give me time. I said it’s been 4 days and you haven’t followed up, he starts making excuses about how these things take time to get approved through HR (they don’t, last time I put my notice in I had a new offer within 24 hours). I told him what I had been telling him for weeks, he has had me doing too much and I was stretched too thin. His response to me leaving was “not everyone is cut out for this job” and I just stared at him. Within 72 hours I had 2 job offers, 5 offers to interview and 2 previous coworkers approach me with job opportunities, so yeah, I’m the problem insert eye roll
