Gaslighters be gaslighting

I left a toxic work environment almost two years ago. Not only did I walk to a competitor, I walked over to run the competitor business in a role they always assumed I wasn’t capable of. After I left they did everything to trash my reputation even as my awards from my time there kept coming in (they wouldn’t let me pick it up and blocked me on all social media) they also trash talked me so much a top employee refused to sign an employment transfer to that office because of the horrific things said about me during a dinner she was at. HR quietly noted to me they were not comfortable handling this particular executive which is what led to my resignation. Know his mentor got tossed out for very bad things being caught on tape. Yet they side step his conduct. Two years later, and absolutely crushing…

Two years later, and absolutely crushing them, I am “retiring” to start a start up and I’m guessing word got around

My former director creeped me this morning on LinkedIn, “found you through LinkedIn search” and then an hour later his least likeable minion did the same.

I figured ok they’re talking about me clearly and given how small our industry is and knowing how validated I feel I figured I would be cheeky and emailed them, “if you and the team going to creep me atleast say hi lol. Guessing you heard I’m leaving”

His response? “No I’m on vacation this is the first time I’ve logged into LinkedIn since my promotion last month, didn’t realize we were still connected until this email and I’m sure that was a hard decision but best of luck wherever you go.”

Guy frauded his taxes lost his business and is now a VP of a multi national company and is still as stupid AF.

There are a million cold and petty responses I could give to him including the screenshot but my partner (who works for them) says it’s just not worth it.

How would you respond? Would you?
