Going to HR about my boss, any advice?

So my boss is pretty problematic. She micromanages, treats people like they're below, has had physical altercations at work events involving alcohol like punching her peer and then trying to break a bottle over someone's head. She sends aggressive and passive aggressive emails to us with our department attached, sometimes outside people as well. I got injured and she was sending me emails about work, and then would send a follow up email saying “please address the previous question.” And she stopped as soon as I reminded her I'm hourly and if she really needs something she needs to text or call me. I got injured and she was sending me emails about work, and then would send a follow up email saying “please address the previous question.” And she stopped as soon as I reminded her I'm hourly and if she really needs something she needs to text or call me.

My boss has been in the hospital the last few days with bleeding ulcers “everywhere”. Weve had so much fun and were very productive, her boss supervised us and he would just tell us what he wanted rather than sending emails on high priority. Today, I was helping my coworker with a project. She called my coworker to talk about the project, and then I told her my portion of it and she talked to me, and then said “repeat it to me” like I'm a child on speaker phone.

All of our superintendents hate her and know she does nothing.

Out of 17 hires in the 5 years she's been here, only 4 have lasted more than 3 months and that includes me, my 2 coworkers, and 1 person that ended up going back to the field because he couldn't deal with her.

So I'm going to HR, who used to be besties with her until she tried to break a bottle over HRs head which is why none of the other complaints panned out.
