Good HR director leaving after 1.5 years.

I work at a large, but not mega church. A lot of folks will shit on this post just for that reason, but I do it because thats where I can make decent money. I’m a sound engineer. I handle audio and lighting. On the free market I’d be lucky to make 30k/yr and at this church I make 62k currently with the promise of yearly raises by this current HR person. Problem is, there is one toxic person right at the top of the food chain at this church. She has been driving away any good administrator that works here. I am just shouting into the void I guess. I finally got an HR person to listen and respond with empathy and actually gave me a huge raise to catch up on all the missed yearly raises from before, then 6 months later gave me my normal yearly raise.…

I feel like thats unheard of in the HR world and I got lucky. Now this person is leaving and its back to having to fight for scraps again.
