Good jobs are out there

Started a new role yesterday, I had initially been attracted to the firm due to their amazing parental leave policy (26 weeks at full pay). During induction yesterday they ran through the sick leave and explained that legally they are required to specify a given number of days (10) however, due to their people focus they will just pay you while sick (currently they have someone undergoing chemo who after 8 months is almost ready to return but had been paid the whole time) so they do seem to put their money where their mouth is. To welcome me and the the other new starter we went out to lunch, company paid for everyone’s meals (inc a couple bottles of wine) we had about 13 people and meals where $25+ each

I had initially come to think these kinda places are a thing of the past and while I’m still cautious it’s looking positive, I know my position nets them millions in profit so I’m not blind to that fact but as I don’t want to do the management side it’s a pretty great trade off.

Keep the faith everyone. Good jobs are out there!
