Yeah, so I got an overuse injury at my last job through a staffing firm, which could also be aggrevated carpal tunnel, but nobodys sure. Let me be clear, there was NOTHING I could have done to prevent it. I even warmed up, and cooled down, every shift. On my own, nobody else did. Anyways, my left forearm and wrist tendons are strained pretty bad. From overuse.
Well, I decided to find another assignment from the staffing agency, and landed on a manufacturing gig. I showed up, wearing my brace, and was asked about it off the bat. I explained the situation and how it wasnt a big deal, but i see her scribble a bunch down which rubbed me the wrong way. Besides that, everything about it seemed great, and I thought my interview went very well.
I find out today, that they don't want to hire me, because, “He referred to getting hurt at work on a few different occasions to where I felt like it was an indicator that he may take unnecessary risks when it comes to safety”
WHAT COULD I HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY? NOT DO MY FUCKING JOB? I don't get it. I do my job, get an overuse injury, and now I'm un-hireable.
We are as disposable as gloves in a commercial kitchen.
