Like I was working super long hours to try and keep them happy then they tossed me aside in budget cuts which sucks.
But the idea that I don't have to devote my life to the grind, even for a little bit, is great. I was in a full time position so I was going to have to save up for like 6 months to get a week off, but now i just get to chill til I feel like applying for a job again.
And yeah financially It'll hurt. But given I've had no time or energy to do anything for months, I haven't been spending. I've been skipping lunches and not going out anywhere or anything, I will be fine for a month without income.
The absolute joy and freedom from being let go is great.
I know finding a new position will be super hard because my industry is struggling and there's no ads up. But for the free time? I wasn't even being paid much before.
I'm starting to think I'd be happier homeless than working.
