So I worked for a nonprofit that is very poorly managed plus the nepotism is very much real. I got my job because my boss is MIL and my grandma works there part time. I am a very hard worker. I go above and beyond. I gave this place my all. I did their inventory which is definitely not my job.
MIL(kitchen manager)went on sick leave. One of my coworkers was a good friend of mine. Long story short her and I got into a heated fight and ended the friendship. She brought it into the workplace. Every chance she got she bad mouthed me. I did my best to ignore it, I even told the big boss about. Well said coworker left to go on vacation and everything kinda sizzled out. At least I thought it did.
I figured this coworker was going to get fired for many reasons one of them is taking a vacation while we switched locations. She knew when this was happening and still booked this little vacation. Once again I was wrong.
The day before she comes back I get pulled into the office and told that I am a “temporary employee” and my 3 months are up. They handed me my last paycheck and told me I was paid for my hours. Which I was never told I was a temporary. In the moment I was stunned so I thanked them for the opportunity and they literally ran away.
After it finally hit I became beyond angry and just straight up left. All of it was hella shady. They brought in someone new that same day and had me train her. Turns out she was my replacement.
Well here's when it gets good.
That coworker comes back the next day and tells them that she doesn't have a ride anymore (I was her ride and she doesn't have a license) so she quit. Then the assistant kitchen manger quit because she couldn't handle basically doing everything herself.
So they lost three workers back to back while in the middle of moving locations.
The big boss called MIL asking her what to do cause they're panicking hella hard. She told them to get on their hands and knees and beg me to come back. I do enough work for two people. Literally everyone told the big boss to hire me back because of how desperate they are.
Currently they only have 2 people working the grunt work. I haven't gotten a call yet and I'm not sure if they will but it is nice knowing they are going tits up.
