I got fired over the weekend from a trivia hosting gig. I haven't worked this thing actively since the pandemic so this is not going to affect my bottom line. I however am livid at the justification they gave me.
Apparently, upon review of my files they found several customer complaints from April 2019 that were never passed on to me. I worked quite successfully and apparently (that I know of) without any real complaints for another year. I cannot really defend myself here as it was four years ago and I cannot remember what exactly happened that night, I clearly was not having a good one. I find it pretty astonishingly unethical as a justification. I was only made aware of these complaints after questioning the firing. I have protested it and accelerated it to higher management, but I am not an idiot here and do not expect anything to change. So, I managed to get fired for work actions after having not worked a trivia night in three years. That is a new one for me.
My assumption is that they just wanted to cull the inactive workers and they decided that this would constitute cause.
I will never have anything to do with this company again after this
