Got let go after working for 10 months with no prior written warnings… given the performance issue bs

Hey all. I'm sorry if this isn't the right sub, but I'm not sure where else to post. Long story short I just got let go today at a receiving job ( in a decently sized manufacturing company (in toronto, canada). The whole time I thought the managers was “for the people” and people who were working there for 5+ years were telling me how great it was to work there. The job had a LOT of responsibilities, rather than just receiving stock. I did dispatching, shipping, coordinating with vendors, a little bit of purchasing, and forklift moving. All the while getting paid the same amount even though on the contract it said the rate will be “reviewed after 6 months” I made some mistakes here and there on the job, but mostly it was just verbal reminders. All the while getting paid the same amount even though on the contract it said the rate will be “reviewed after 6 months”

I made some mistakes here and there on the job, but mostly it was just verbal reminders. My boss only spoke to me for one of them which I considered was a verbal warning. I've gotten good responses from the owners, my trainer and the other managers. Lo and behold, 3 weeks after the verbal reminder I was pulled into the boardroom with HR today stating that I am not a good fit for the company…. 10 months in?? I thought usually this stuff happens during probation period? I told them this is way out of left field and I have been working towards what they asked. The company bought a smaller company and I noticed a lot of the labourers were getting cut left and right. This all happened right before the annual performance review. I also tried to internally apply for a logistics position that would have been for the other nicer boss (which I think may have been a factor)

To be honest, I've been quiet quitting the last month now. The job was getting really stagnant and dealing with some people was an absolute nightmare. I'm still shocked however that after even the OWNERS were saying I was doing good I'd be kicked to the curb without even a prior written warning. I guess the budget was overblown last year, and the owner just bought a new corvette too. I know 10 months is like nothing in terms of length of employment but I honestly felt like I worked hard at this position and liked most of the people there. Feels pretty shitty still,
