I work for a large tire company that services a very LARGE distributing company. I personally go out every Saturday to change tires, fix flats, rotates anything to make sure these truck and trailers are operational and safe for the drivers. This last Saturday the Fleet manger asked me why we have been putting brand new $500+ tire on trailers and Congears when we should be using retread tires that cost $200. I told him the truth, which is my company has been doing this for the past 2 years before I started and took over the account. He also asked me why we did a full new set of tires that had 15/32 worth of tread ( new is 18/32) but told them they had 5/32. This occurred why I was on vacation. I told him the truth my company has been milking you guys for years and only recently after I took over has things been going a lot smoother why saving the account money. Think imma get fired if my company finds out but fuck I just couldn’t lie to this guy. They started doing this under the radar bull shit during Covid as sales were slow and this was a way to increase profits.
