Got passed on a job for asking too many questions

I live in Amarillo Texas, got nearly two decades experience in management and logistics. Been looking for a job since April. A 'delivery driver' post showed up on Indeed and the company contacted me, sent me for a UA, background check, and DOT physical so I know they're serious. The interview was strange though it was at the owner's residence by a lady that said she did HR for this company and a few others. As I understand it it was like a FedEx franchise. The owner had FedEx trucks and uniforms but you worked for him rather than FedEx directly. In the interview, the lady told me that they pay 100 a day in town and 200 when helping out of state. The ad said between 100 and 240$ a day. Told me they put you in a BnB while out of town and the minimum time out of town was 3 months working 6 days a week. So I asked how long is the training, how soon would I be able to go out of state, and how was per diem paid. Also asked what a normal route would consist of, what BnB's did they use and where out of state I'd be. I also asked if I couldn't get more than 200 since I have over 10 years of delivery service in a territory bigger than the state of Nebraska. I got a vague answer of “I think Colorado right now” and even vaguer answers on the rest. Got an outright “I don't know” on the per diem question. The pay questions was answered with “No that's the beginning pay, but if you impress the boss you'll get a 'substantial' raise after 3 months. An hour after the last time I called her about the pay question, I got an email that they'd chosen not to hire me. I asked why and she said the owner had decided to hire in Fort Worth and service out of state from there. She sounded really hesitant and nervous when explaining this.
