Got the DM quickly demoted and ultimately fired a YEAR after leaving

Sorry but to get everything in, this is gonna be a long one: So I used to work at U-Haul where I only took the job because 2 of my siblings were already working there. I had heard rumors that the DM there was a a complete bitch but I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt since I am called a bitch but I'm not really; I just have the face and I don't really care for employees who go out of their way to not do anything. The first time I met her though she came up to me and told me that there was a truck that had graffiti on it and why hadn't I taken care of it. When I told her I had literally just clocked in and was helping a customer drop off their truck she told me that she didn't…

So I used to work at U-Haul where I only took the job because 2 of my siblings were already working there.

When I told her I had literally just clocked in and was helping a customer drop off their truck she told me that she didn't want to hear excuses and to get it done to which I responded that it wasn't an excuse, it was an explanation. She did NOT like that so she sent me home. I told her that was fine but that I hadn't been there 2 hours yet and that by law, I would need to be paid for 2 hours of labor and that I would be checking my timesheet to ensure it was there after which I clocked out and left her there. (It wasn't and I had to call HR to get it rectified.)

During my time there I had heard other rumors about her not training employees to use the forklift but expecting them to use them, not buying ladders tall enough and telling the guys to “make do and get it done,” and watching the cameras obsessively to check if we were sitting on our stool at the front desk.

The final straw was when I injured myself at work. I smashed my finger to the point where the middle finger split right at the tip. I went in to urgent care where they fixed me up but they didn't drug test me so of course she calls me the next day at work and demands to know why I didn't get tested. It went something like this:

Me: Hi Cindy, how can I help you?

Cindy: Why didn't you get drug tested when you went to urgent care yesterday?

Me: I was worried about my finger, not some damn drug test that I didn't even know about. The nurses didn't even mention it.

Cindy: You should have reminded them about it.

Me: Again, my main concern was my finger, not your drug test.

Cindy: You need to go back and get that done. Go now.

Me: I'm part of a 2 person skeleton crew that you scheduled so no, I can't go now. I will go after work and you will pay me for it.

Cindy: That would be overtime so no, go as soon as the next person comes in.

Me: That's at the end of my shift. You made the schedule Cindy, you should know this. But I will do as I am told and I expect it to be on my check coded appropriately. *click* (I got paid for 2 extra hours, not OT but I was only there for 15 minutes so I called it even)

I had already started applying to different jobs and thankfully I got hired into a school job at the local Community College. I lasted 5 more months before I quit. That was in May and the following April I log in to the intranet to get my W2 for tax purposes when I see they have an exit interview. So I fill it out. “U-Haul as a company was great to work for.”

“I enjoyed working at U-Haul, the store manager was amazing.”

“My least favorite part of U-Haul? Cindy Fucking Loo Who and this is why:…”

I went IN on that exit interview so much so that even my brother, who was still working there, saw it posted on our bulletin board. Cindy herself came in angry as fuck demanding to know who I was and my brother just said, “Oh yeah, That's my brother. He doesn't really like you.” About a month later, she was demoted to call center attendant and then quietly fired. I had people who I used to work with there call me to tell me she was fired. Multiple people. It felt nice to be the reason why she was even looked at by corporate.

TLDR: Worked at U-Haul where the DM Cindy was a raging bitch. Left U-Haul 2 years after starting and filled out exit interview a year after leaving. Let them know everything that Cindy had done to me and every rumor I had heard about regarding her and OSHA violations. She gets canned.
