I just had to call in sick recently and this was the response I got:
1) “Oh yeah? What happened?” (Bearing in mind this is the first time I have called in sick and I shouldn’t have to explain myself anyway).
2) “You’re going to leave 2 people on shift tonight” as if I wasn’t scheduled to be on shift with one other person the day before… Also it looks as though they’re trying to guilt trip me when I’m only trying to protect my health? What do they want me to? Come in anyway and be sick everywhere??
I know this place is quite understaffed, but they’re not doing themselves any favors by treating their employees like objects.
