I have been sick for two and a half weeks with covid.
I tried to work but I was told that I couldn't since I couldn't preform my job (I lost my voice and couldn't talk, a need to do my job).
So I was forced to call out. My original goal was to file an FMLA claim but I couldn't do so at first since I had no voice. Now I have a voice but I am no longer testing positive but I am still having symptoms. So I can’t prove I had it, so FMLA is likely going to be denied.
My work is crazy strict about attendance. As it stands right now there is a pretty good chance that I will be getting fired when I go back at the very least I will be on track to getting fired.
This is insane. A year ago I would have had protected company leave with pay. Now I'm trying to figure out how to keep my job after my employer wouldn’t allow me to work. This is so unfair.
