I’m asking because over the last year the owner, in agreement with the manger at the business I work for, took away the chair we had at the front desk. Basically the job requires us to check people in and when it’s slow, go and do different tasks on our to-do list. It’s nice to be able to sit in between taste when we’re checking people in the building.
There’s locations for this business in both Portland, OR and Bend, OR. Recently the Portland employees found out that legally they have to have chairs provided for everyone. When we heard that news in Bend, we found the hidden chair and got it out. Shortly after, the manager came in and took the chair away telling us the law is only for Portland and not Bend. Here’s the law: https://www.portland.gov/code/8/48/030#:~:text=Every%20employer%20in%20any%20manufacturing,permit%20them%20to%20use%20such
Basically since that has happened I’ve been wondering about how to get that done here. I’ve tried googling it, but don’t know where to start. I would love to hear from other’s experiences who have tried to do something like this. Please help me get the chair back!
