Having to negotiate for a higher salary upon getting a job offer just shows how exploitative the system is.

I think it's ridiculous how we have to haggle for a good salary upon getting a job offer. After all the BS we have to go through (degrees, internships, job apps, interviews, etc.), companies want to offer their new workers peanuts, and we have to fight by negotiating so they don't exploit us. Even negotiating is no guarantee that they won't exploit us because there's always a possibility they'll take back the job offer. This is especially true for women, as studies show that people respond more negatively to women negotiating than men. They even try to gaslight us into feeling guilty for asking for a salary we deserve by saying we're greedy and superficial. What's worse is that some people don't even know that negotiating is an option, and they just accept the peanuts they're offered. The whole system is exploitative and manipulative, and I'm sick of it.
