Hiring same position for $1.50/hr more than I make

So I was out with my gf over the weekend and she shows me this listing indeed sent her for the location I work at. We get to talking about it and turns out they would start the new hire at 16.50 which is around $1.50 more than I make. I brought this up to my manager and he claims that its because they would be going full time but the job description is literally my part time position with no mention of going full time or anything of the sort. The conversation concluded with him saying he can talk to our district manager but cant promise anything. The message I got from the conversation was essentially to kick rocks youre not gonna get a raise. I have been with the company for 2 years and this feels like a huge slap in the face as I wasn’t even offered…

I have been with the company for 2 years and this feels like a huge slap in the face as I wasn’t even offered the opportunity to go full time and because I know I’d end up training them like I did with our newish assistant manager. Im not even sure I want to stay with sherwin because I feel very under appreciated at the moment. Any advice would be great thanks for reading!
