So my mother has been an mri tech for more than 30 years. She had a heart attack last Christmas Eve at the hospital she works at while visiting my father. My father ultimately passed in February while my mom was still in the icu recovering. She worked her ass off rehabilitating, and finally made it back to work in September.
She gets a call from HR this morning to report outside, gets put on a bus, and is driven to a corporate office where she is subjected to a surprise battery of memory and physical tests. Once they were done, they informed my mom that she was now out on “leave” pending her being under the care of an approved neurologist, being able to lift 80lbs by herself, and the kicker is that they are making her use up her zillions of hours of sick time that she’s accrued over the past 30 years while she is out.
Is there any recourse for her? I feel horrible, but I don’t know how to begin searching for solutions.
