Hours being cut despite being unionized

For context, I work at a retail location which is part of a union (being vague for reasons) and I’ve been here for just over 8 months. I’ve never been late and only call in sick when absolutely necessary and have been a relatively friendly employee. Recently I heard from one of the newer hires that all our hours are being cut EXCEPT for the person who’s been here for 7 years because of call offs and “just standing around doing nothing”. I’m being lumped in with the newer hires who have been sick and sent home frequently (every week one of them would call in or be sent home and one was frequently a minute or two late for their shift) when the one time I was sick I provided a doctor’s note because I had the stomach flu with lab results to confirm and was off 3 days…

Do I put in a grievance with the union? I cant afford a pay cut
