How are wages in highly-skilled jobs still only a few dollars more than minimum wage?

Sorry, just gotta rant… In CA, science/tech jobs are still being posted as being only $3-$10 more than the minimum wage of $15. How is this ok? No wonder college degrees are a waste of money!
