My boyfriend got a new job but within the same company (different department). He got a significant increase in pay from about 20$ an hour to now 40ish but he is salary. His old boss emailed him asking if he could help on a project and said they can pay him a consulting fee but the old HR came back and said they wouldn't be able to do that. I'm telling him to say he won't do it for less than 60 an hour which would be time and a half how can he respond to this absurd email since we know that the old HR is trying to pull a fast one/lie about not being able to pay.
