So what do we do? I’m new to this awareness and fighting for our human rights. It took me long enough but now here I am and ready to learn.
We know we’re all in a system designed to enslave us. Folks fought back in the day and helped make working conditions better for us. What can we do? I’m sick of feeling too exhausted to do anything from working 40 hours a week. And it’s still not enough to survive in this country. Yet if we try to drop hours we lose our insurance and can’t make enough to survive in this economy.
I’m sick of watching my friends end up in the hospital from overwork and stress. There’s been many new studies that show a 4 day work week actually increases productivity and improved the mental health of folks. We need to make this a reality because I know many can’t go on living like this.
So I’m looking for knowledge, resources, groups to join in the fight against human extortion in this country. I’m writing up drafts to send to my state representatives, but there’s gotta be more I can do. Are there any protests, blackouts or unions to join? What else can be done? It seems the success on any movement is organization and we need to organize.
Change might not happen in my lifetime. But in the meantime, I can be a part of the steps that make it easier for future activists to launch from. And at the very least I won’t go down without a fight. Here’s hoping that we can make it harder on some politicians, and corporation owners. Make them lose a bit of sleep for all of their transgressions against we the people.
We don’t have much to lose anyway. Give me liberty or give me death. I’d rather go down fighting this oppressive system then being worked to death.
