I just started at a specific fast food franchise a little over two weeks ago, I was given very little training and expected to pull 40+ hours(basically 40 + overtime but since I don’t have a way to to track exactly my hours I don’t have the exact math) I mainly do one of 2 positions frys or carrier however, I’m expected to pretty much cash out bag and a lot of the time also do fries, while again being new. If ask anyone else for assistance sandwiches/front counter(we maybe get someone every half an hour there with occasional rushes) or even ask any questions I’m either mocked and bullied or just ignored all together. There’s one specific person(who’s very much a grown adult man old enough to have 4+ kids) who is normally on front counter(refuses to do anything else even when not having any customers at all) who’s now just flat out bullying me. Today I was on cashing out bagging(and occasionally making fry and nuggets for myself) all with a broken card reader(taking 1 minutes to work 3 minutes to go through and then if it went through(half the time it accepted and then said offline so it didn’t actually go through.) another minute to minute and a half to actually pay out. On top of bagging and frys without help. After two orders going through then going offline after the cars drove off basically giving the food free I was told do not let them drive off with out it going completely through don’t even hand food or drinks. I began to get behind and the front desk guy began harassing me, not helping just berating me(he does this often but not to this severity) he began telling me that he was gonna make sure I quit then it escalated to grabbing a bag and putting it to his face telling me to come here so he could suffocate me, then telling me twice to kill myself. After this I began recording a voice memo(we are a one party consent state) I caught him telling me to kill myself 3 times while customers heard I even had one say she planned on calling due to the hostile environment I finally couldn’t handle anymore and went back to the office saying I was done till the gm got there(15 min) he freaked telling me I had orders he couldn’t deal with them. Walking back and slamming a headset on me, I went back but said I was done when gm got there. My drinks weren’t made for one order(not part of my position) but I began making them asking the customer he got huffy pushed past me and slammed the drink as hard as possible on my hand. Then went and bragged to the sandwich maker about it. The gm got there and didn’t seem to care trying to claim I couldn’t leave but my mom showed up and threatened to sue. What direct action can I take to ensure I’m not fired especially if I got the harassment(a good portion of it) recorded?
