How do you deal with a nitpicky coworker who creates a hostile work environment?

Hi all, So I like my job, and all of my coworkers with the exception of this girl Karen ( not her name but her behavior) To best describe her, she's a person who overworks themselves to try and promote, which would be fine. Except for the fact that shes kind of an awful human and take out her misery on others. I will be having a conversation with coworkers and she will scroll her chair over and shove herself into the conversation. She constantly complains that I vent about my work while she is the first person to say that x client is toxic or the worst. She will claim I do not do work on committees when I miss one meeting of ten from having a client call go longer than expected. I could make a list of all the things she complains about, but honestly I don't…

Hi all,

So I like my job, and all of my coworkers with the exception of this girl Karen ( not her name but her behavior)

To best describe her, she's a person who overworks themselves to try and promote, which would be fine.

I could make a list of all the things she complains about, but honestly I don't want to invest the energy into it.

At this point, her complaints are impacting my salary and it pisses me off. I have some of the highest metrics on my team bringing in 5 million dollars a year while simultaneously working with our most difficult clients. And yet, her list of little complaints is frankly the only thing I hear about.

Honestly I'm not sure what to do about her. I kind of want to ignore her completely, but I don't want to be labeled as awful because I'm ignoring or dismissing the person who constantly tries to get me in trouble for reasons that I just don't understand. I also kind of want to pull out of all the committee work I am in that she is also in and cite that she creates a hostile work environment with her negative attitude, nitpicking, and while I've tried to be nice… I'm tired of indulging and enabling the behavior.

What should I do?
