How do you guys pick out a schedule for your new job when you don’t really do much outside of work?

Hey all, I am going to be starting my new job next week. Training starts as soon as my first day and that schedule is set for the next several months. Now I’ve been told since my facility is 24 hours, they may need me after market hours (since it is a brokerage job) and on the weekends after my training is over and the shift bid process starts. My question is this: how do I go about picking a set schedule after my training is completed when I don’t do much or plan on doing much outside of work? I of course have preferences such as not working weekends and having the 9-5. But since again it’s a 24/7 facility, they may want people working odd hours.
