I work in direct patient care in a hospital in NJ. About a year ago they start to make us work an extra half hour because they're not paying for a dinner brake any more. No prob whatever.. I've been working at least 10 hours OT a week for over a year. We lost alot of staff after covid and no one is applying. Sunday morning while on OT my boss tells me I'm on the on call schedule for a specific duty starting the next week. I don't want call. she says it's not an option and I have to do it. What I researched is According to NJ Section 34:11-56a31 makes ot and call voluntary. This is from 2013… does anyone know if this is still law?
