…specifically when other workers are too afraid to strike because their employment is linked to their housing.
I work at a ski area that's been fucking over workers since I started last year. Most of the issues are about employee housing, rent and pay. I've already contacted OSHA and the state's Regulations and Licensing Dept.
They've recently increased rent by different amounts for different people, and as is there's gender discriminatory rent prices and everyone's upset. I wanted to start to organize the workers, I've contacted a few local union branches recently, and I'm still waiting on them to reply.
Would it be better to just wait until we can actually unionize (if it's even possible,) or do I need to start trying and convincing people more. I'm just flustered and angry and I want us workers to stop being exploited. This place makes millions every year, and that's after all expenses, including wages, and the owner is a billionaire. I'm just getting sick and tired of this system and I want change.
I just don't know what do.
