I need to rant very badly.
I(24F) have been working at my casino for one year and three months. It was my first job after the pandemic and was grateful to even get a job. Now, I am ready to get the hell out!!
For starters, I am a stock associate that works from 2pm-10pm, 4 days a week and considered a part-time employee. I need to watch over three gift shops to make sure they have merchandise, water, soda, and beer stocked. Wasn't bad at all but it was a bit hectic in the beginning. Got the hang of it, work got done, brought in drinks and other stuff in time, etc.
Then, it got worse.
Months ago, say February or late January, I was told that now I have to take care of the Pool Store and order chips/snacks, beer, water, and bring merchandise to them. I did get upset but a week later, I got the hang of it.
After having a mental time sheet in my head on the time I should go to different stores to take care of them, the managers ruined it. I was told that now I have to iron and steam the clothing from Pool Store.
Let me repeat, IRON AND STEAM CLOTHES.
I am talking t-shirts, tank tops and all that has to be steamed by me! I am literally taking care of four stores by myself with no help, no second stocker, no one!! And now they want me to steam clothes?
I talked to one of the good assistant manager and said I'm not doing it. You make me do it, goodbye. He went to make a call with another assistant manager who said I have to do it. Never got an email saying that is my new task since that what they always do.
Well he said I have to. He doesn't like it either and finds it ridiculous but told me to go slow and do it little by little. Naaaaaahhhh!!!! I respect you, but this is the last straw! Job hunting right now and I'm trying to finish my degree this year and now I'm even more stressed. Thanks for giving me more work but no pay raise!!!
P.S. I only get paid 16.50/hr
