I applied to a job and was immediately ghosted after providing my salary requirements.

A couple of days ago I applied to a job that aligns with my skill set. I’m starting to look because my current employer is having financial difficulties and may be laying some people off. The application process was super excruciating, they even asked for a bunch of supporting documentation. Their HR person emails me yesterday morning, we went back and forth with him asking me a few questions, and the last email I got was asking for my salary requirements. Magically, I stopped hearing from him. This morning I even sent an email asking if he’d received my response. Nothing. Radio silence. I don’t understand why these HR people don’t have the decency to turn you down if you don’t fall under their desired parameters. Especially when you’ve taken the time to go through their ridiculous application process. Companies are only putting themselves in bad spots by not wanting…

I don’t understand why these HR people don’t have the decency to turn you down if you don’t fall under their desired parameters. Especially when you’ve taken the time to go through their ridiculous application process.

Companies are only putting themselves in bad spots by not wanting to properly train and compensate their talent. I hate to think about the future.
