The more I think about this the more I realize I fucked up. I’m going to try and give as much, yet little, detail as possible for job identity purposes.
I work at a company for kids. We have big activities and events for them around the US. I recently stepped into a position to lead a big activity for a couple months and it came to an end a couple days ago. It went really well and company wants me to move to another state to do the next big activity. Great opportunity but I cant just up and move without financial support. Original offer was for me to travel there everyday, but since I have no car i’d have to train and bus, which would be about 6h A DAY worth of commuting, 5days a week. Hell no. Living in the area is the only option.
So the original offer was for me to find a place and move there and they’ll handle the deposit(if i found an apartment) and I pay the rent. That made no sense to me as I currently dont pay rent, but even if i did why would i pay a whole new rent on top of that. And they only pay down payment? Wack. So i found an airbnb which came out to a bit more than $6000 for the whole stay. So i asked if they could pay for the bnb and i’ll take care of food transportation etc. they said they’d give me $2500 to use on whatever i’d like for support but wont pay for the whole thing. That still felt like a loss, so i talked to my GM about it. We did some math and with good budgeting I could make that work so i said yes to the offer woohoo everyone us thrilled to have me.
Problem now is im really thinking about it more and how they skimped me. I dont think it’s worth it, even tho I am getting a bit of a raise as well. Activity is about 15min away from bnb, and I could walk there i love using my legs, but it’s bout to bewinter time so that would suck everyday since in car-less. I feel like bringing it up but I know it’s still my fault for not fully thinking it through even though it still didn’t sit right with me. So you want me to move but wont even fully pay for the living? Just need some advice on this and will answer any INFO questions.
