I am 30F and graduated with an accounting degree 5 years ago. I expected my salary to be above $3k. I have been working in the field of accounting for more than one year, six months in Accounts Receivable(1st job temp job), nine months(2nd job) in accounts payable and 3 months in an accounting firm handling full sets of accounts(4th job). 3rd job is not accounts related.
My 2nd and 4th job is toxic because of several reasons. There was a second job that required me to go to the bank alone to deposit large sums of cash (the most was about $50K), which I found unsafe. Plus, the accountant is very harsh to me coz of my carelessness I am trying to change and she keeps saying I am still making the same careless mistake. Despite studying accounting for my degree, she says that accounting is not for me. I'm still told I shouldn't study accounting for my degree because I study IT for my diploma, so I should study IT for my degree.
The 4th job is even toxic because of the environment. Upper management micromanages. As I end work at 5.30 pm, I am not supposed to leave exactly at 5.30 pm because this is not in the factory. During office hours, I cannot eat sitting at my desk even though I am hungry in the late afternoon. I feel it is ridiculous. Plus, there is no OT pay. Sometimes, I stay until 6.30pm to complete my work.
I try to apply as many as jobs and I go for several interviews and none of the companies want to hire me because my working experience with my previous companies is too short ( I mean most of the employers but not all, only a few of them don't mind). Plus, I feel that my pay is pretty low for the last job (around $2k) and wanna to be above $2.5K. How do I get hired immediately as I don't have much working experience?
