I live in New Brunswick and for almost five years was working for the trucking company owned by the evil billionaire who runs my province. I did quality work and showed up on time.
Well, we had a bad quarter at the beginning of this year so most of my team & I were laid off. I did receive a month and a half of severance at least.
Queue to looking for a new job, (I refuse to say career) and thankfully a few weeks later found one but the hours are awful. I went from a comfortable 9-5 five days a week to 6-5 six days a week when it was supposed to be five
I have been looking for something else and had two promising interviews to only be told it came down to me and one other candidate and I did not get it. Absolutely sucks.
I should be grateful for having a job but a polished turd is still a turd.
