I feel like making employees show up to work while sick shouldn’t be allowed

Just an insignificant vent, but had to go to work with a pretty bad cold because boss refuses to hire more people. I work retail, we are 4 people. This means that if one of us gets sick and the forth, and only person not working that day can’t cover the shift you have to show up sick.
