I Got a Job at a Nonprofit. It’s Surreal (and HIGHLY Recommended)

I recently got hired as a courier by a nonprofit that does a bit of everything, including Head Start, energy/housing/food/etc. assistance for low-income people, abuse shelters, and quite a few other services. My first week there, they had an all-staff meeting, and everyone was legitimately happy to be there. When I talked with people, I didn't hear a single complaint. It was actually off-putting, because I've never seen that. Additionally, I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop, where there's some power-tripping manager, or an incompetent supervisor who got there by manipulating the system, or a coworker ready to screw me over for a 10¢/hr raise; but there's no one like that here. NO ONE. Other features of the job: -Medical/dental benefits -403b (nonprofit version of 401k) -Across the board yearly pay increases (I believe it's 2%. FOR EVERYONE) Honestly, the whole thing feels too good to be true,…

Honestly, the whole thing feels too good to be true, and my terrible experiences with businesses in the past isn't letting me fully enjoy it.

It's a great problem to have! It also really emphasizes why this board is so popular. I cannot suggest finding a np job enough.
