So I recently got a WFH related job of customer experience, and I got a lot of pressure and responsibility since after my first month there. I'm three months in and the pressure and work load didn't stop but rising, to the point of being too much to handle. Besides, there had some lay offs and people leaving with no extra people to help. I'm very new and I need some time to adjust to the job in order to make it right, but I'm alone and everyone is busy.
So my anxiety came up, and it's gotten worse over the weeks. Last week I got a crushing pain in my chest during a meeting and I thought I was getting a heart attack.
This Tuesday my nausea got worse andi had to try to throw up, but nothing was coming out because I wake up so nauseous I can't eat until 15pm.
Last Thursday I started hyperventilating to the point I felt like fainting.
And I thought, that's it, I'm not ok, I can't keep going like this, I'm going to the doc. I texted my supervisor “I have to go to the doc, I'm not feeling ok”.
The doc said I was having an anxiety case, with probably some depression in but he wasn't to say, got me some pills and a 20 day leave (I'm in Europe).
I texted HR to tell them, and a couple of colleagues texted, including my supervisor, the person that's been both giving me extra work and nagging me when it didn't come on time. I didn't text back.
A friend of mine knows someone in the company and he asked about me, also mentioning to my friend that it's been said that not telling them I was sick was rude and distasteful.
Fuck them, I hope they lay me off.
