I am currently working a 9-5 office job, and the job was advertised as a £16,000 + commission role; and even classified it on the offer letter. I have been working there for almost 4 months and I haven’t received any base only commission, I was promised that if during my training a close any deal I’ll get £200 but I never once seen that money.
Recently, it has left a toll on my work ethic as due to not earning a base but expected to work 8 hours a day I haven’t been able to stay motivated to work those hours, along with having to work a second job at night to get by.
I am 19 years old, so at first I didn’t think it was anything too weird that I didn’t have to sign a contract due to most of my past jobs not having me sign one; however, after speaking to my girlfriend,family and friends it seems really sketchy.
I usually end up feeling drained and not motivated to do a full 8 hours of work and they have noticed my performance going down and complained that I only realistically done 2-3 hours of work that day.
Any advice?
