Hi all, first time poster, short term lurker, long time antiwork advocate.
I'm a young man in New Zealand and I have been working for 16 years now, that's just over half of my life working and I just can't make it work anymore. Every year it just gets worse and worse.
These corporations and companies are bleeding us dry. And all so we make a pittance while paying megabucks for essentials.
I spent the previous 5 years working for a toxic company and the only thing I got from it was ptsd and a prescription for antidepressants. Gaslighting, using me to intimidate a business, false accusations of substance abuse, you name it, it happened.
My dream is to run my own business and start one up for my dad who is retiring so he can keep himself and my mum. We both have 3d printers and I build props while he builds furniture. I've had some sales but nothing regular enough to go full time.
Someone please tell me that that there is hope, some way that I can pull myself out of this hellhole.
Thanks for listening if you made it this far and thanks for advocating for all of us workers.
